Overview of Features

Diamond Core Technology: A patented piece of equipment which will “deliver a forgiving arc” helping you lay beautiful beads. This unit definitely has a stable arc, which makes using this unit much more pleasurable especially with thicket matierals. The smooth arc technology included in this model allows you to create an arc with minimal splatter, reducing the time spent cleaning up your welded material.

Digital Meters: When setting up the machines parameters, the display will show present voltage and wire speed. When welding the actual voltage and wire speed will be displayed in real time.

Magnum Pro Gun and Cable: A 15ft (4.5M) cable comes with the welder making it easier to work on a larger piece of material. It also reduces the amount of trips to reposition your equipment if the material is large, giving you more arc time.

115V Auxiliary Receptacle (208/230V Model Only): You can power a grinder or other auxillary equipment from the 115V output port on the 208/230V model. Convenient to keep your equipment in your immediate area, and means you only need to find power for the welder.

Coil Claw Cable Management: Helps keep your workspace organised by keeping cables out of the way of your material, and mount your gun when not in use. Also useful when moving the unit around as you won’t run the cables over with the machines wheels.

Heavy Duty Wire Drive: A fully adjustable drive system reduces tangling and crushing of wire, whilst providing smooth delivery. It’s also much quieter than a plastic alternative with another benefit of added drive torque for higher delivery speeds. Made from one piece of Aluminum ensures durability, and unlike plastic counterparts won’t get brittle with heat or age.

Tool-less Design: No need to carry around any extra tools for input power changes, spool mounting, drive servicing and polarity changes. Convenient if you don’t own a range of tools, and no hidden surprises if something goes wrong.

Spool Gun Ready: When connecting a gun to this machine, it will automatically detect if it’s a MIG or Spool Gun and adjust accordingly. Reducing the need for user input, and remembering another setting to change.

Will this welder suit my needs?

If you’re comparing welders for light industrial use, metal fabrication, farm/autobody or require a high duty cycle this welder will do the job perfectly. Although it’s heavy which makes portability an issue, it has a high duty cycle and plenty of features to keep up with you. Features such as the Cast Aluminum drive ensures reliability, something you don’t see in lower end welders. Versatile in it’s power output, as low as 30A for car body work or as high as 300A.

As with all other Lincoln machines, this model has a 3 year warranty with the option of a 2 year extension if needed. A great all rounder with a few features to make usage more pleasurable.

Conclusion.

A great welder for those looking for a higher output amperage and more durable machine. It lacks the ability of portability, however it’s setup for shop work where transportation isn’t a deciding factor when comparing machines. It has great build quality and warranty which is important if you rely on a piece of equipment. Overall a great piece of equipment and certainly a must have if you’re looking for a more capable unit.
